The Arraial Ferreira Neto (pictured) was the structure to support the fishing of tuna in the ocean, located in Quatro Águas in Tavira.
Ferreira Neto was a big Tuna fishing company on the Algarve. The basis of this type of fishing operations was the camp and this project was based on the concept of an autonomous urban unit, with facilities separated from the housing areas (to accommodate 150 fishing families), the industrial area (transformation of tuna and maintenance workshops) and a recreational area that included a school and church.
It is currently the only remaining camp, having been transformed into a hotel with a theme museum on the art of tuna fishing.
